Liberty Tree Tavern—where any day of the year you can enjoy a Thanksgiving-esque feast—is a Table Service restaurant located in Magic Kingdom Park’s Liberty Square. It’s one of my family’s favorite eateries on property, especially when we’re craving a hearty, family-style meal.
The restaurant’s atmosphere is a step back in time to the days of Colonial Williamsburg. Rich wood paneling and a large brick fireplace welcome Guests into the waiting area. Throughout, walls are lined with period portraits, knick-knacks, and curios that represent a time gone by. Windows paned with imperfect glass, wooden floors that creak with each step, and candelabra chandeliers (modernized out of necessity, of course) give ye time travelers a delightfully patriotic ambiance and prepare them to sup in splendor on a fall harvest bounty.

The 6 dining rooms each commemorate a pivotal figure in United States history: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Paul Jones, Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, and George Washington. Be sure to wander the rooms with your young patriots in search of signature artifacts associated with each famous American.

This week as Americans gather in gratitude for our many blessings, Liberty Tree Tavern will be one of nearly 40 Walt Disney World Resort restaurants to serve up a memorable Thanksgiving Day menu:
- For LUNCH, enjoy New England pot roast and roast turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes. (Other options also available.)
- For DINNER, dive into a belly-filling, family-style feast. Better wear your stretchy pants so you have room for the “all-you-care-to-enjoy” Patriot’s Platter, piled high with carved turkey breast, roast beef, and pork tenderloin, accompanied by traditional sides of green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, and fresh, warm dinner rolls.
- For DESSERT, satisfy your sweet tooth with Jonny Appleseed’s cake filled with apples and dried cranberries, or melt into the Ooey Gooey toffee cake with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Young colonists can enjoy a Glowing Character Punch, served in a souvenir cup spangled with a light-up Disney character, or a frozen Patriot’s Punch, served in a collectible Liberty Tree Tavern mug.
*Availability is limited. Dining events are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations.

Today’s Takeaway:
Have your child(ren) research one of the famous Americans who inspire Liberty Tree Tavern’s décor (Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Paul Jones, Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, and George Washington) and investigate that person’s contributions to the development of our nation. Then, have them dress in period costume and present a demonstration of what life was like for them in Colonial America, noting their contributions and being sure to include visual aids that represent that person’s significance to United States history (i.e., craft an American flag, turn on a lamp to represent electricity, or build a 1700s battleship in a bottle).
AND have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with your family and friends!
